Meet Dr. Brian Cox
A Passion for Dentistry
I love the art of dentistry. It really is as simple as that. Dentistry is an art, and not just in the context of cosmetic dentistry, but with every procedure that we provide. From a routine filling to complete implant restorations, you can be assured that I will perform all procedures with equal attention to the smallest of details.
Dentistry provides me the opportunity to assist my patients in achieving and maintaining optimal dental health. Restoring a smile or relieving a patient from dental pain or discomfort, are a few of the most rewarding aspects of our practice. I also enjoy helping patients with dental anxiety through their fears and towards dental health, positively impacting them for a lifetime .
Each of my patients is special to me, and I treat each patient as if they were family. I enjoy practicing in Fort Collins. It is a beautiful city filled with interesting people of many diverse backgrounds and talents. I am priveleged to meet people from so many walks of life, each with their own story to share.
My Education and Commitment to Continuing Education
Originally from rural Illinois, I acquired my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. My Doctorate of Dental Surgery was awarded by the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in Chicago, where I served as class president. Following dental school, I attended Emory University's School of Postgraduate Dentistry in Atlanta Georgia. While at Emory I served as Chief Resident, and continued to work and teach for the program for one year following completion of my residency.
I’ve continued my study of dentistry throughout my career with some of the most qualified dental educators in the country. I’ve completed nationally recognized seminars and courses, including those taught by Dr. Frank Spear and The Dawson Academy.
Some of my most recent areas of continuing education have been in restorative implant procedures and TMJ-TMD evaluation and treatment. I’ve also taken advanced endodontics (root canal) training and studied cosmetic dentistry, from single tooth restoration to full arch rehabilitation.
My family and I have lived in Fort Collins since 2002. My wife, Susan, is a dietitian and an amazing chef! We have two daughters: Corinne, who lives and works in Seattle, WA and Brenna, who will graduate from Drake University in 2017.
At times, my wife and I foster dogs for local rescues and organizations, and some of those dogs end up staying with us as family members: Beryl, a lab/golden retriever; Louie, a 12-pound chihuahua/Italian greyhound; and Tula, a young heeler mix. Susan and I enjoy all of the great outdoor opportunities that Fort Collins and Colorado have to offer. Hiking, biking, fishing, climbing, snowshoeing, skiing, etc.... we've likely tried it all!
